How to Change the Mercedes-Benz Key Fob Battery (Chrome Keys)
Chrome Model with Round Red Button
- Battery type – CR2025 (2)
- Slide the black tab to the right.
- Remove the metal key.
- Insert the metal key into the other end of the fob.
- Slide out the battery compartment.
- Remove the Mercedes-Benz key fob batteries.
- Replace the old batteries with new batteries.
- Slide the battery compartment back into the fob.
- Return the metal key to its original slot.
Chrome Model with Triangular Red Button
- Battery type – CR2025 (1)
- Release the metal key by sliding the black tab to the right.
- Take the metal key out of the fob.
- Insert the metal key into narrow end of the slot on the fob.
- Pry off the back cover with the metal key.
- Pry out the battery with a flat head screwdriver.
- Install the new Mercedes key fob battery.
- Return the back cover and metal key to their places in the fob.

- Battery type – CR2025 (2)
- Pull down the black latch at the bottom of the fob.
- Take the metal key out of the fob.
- Slide the metal key sideways into the fob until it triggers the latch.
- Slide out the battery compartment.
- Remove the Mercedes-Benz key fob batteries.
- Replace the old batteries with new batteries.
- Place the battery compartment and metal key back into the fob.
