How to Change the Mercedes-Benz Key Fob Battery (Chrome Keys)

Chrome Model with Round Red Button

• Battery type – CR2025 (2)

1. Slide the black tab to the right.
2. Remove the metal key.
3. Insert the metal key into the other end of the fob.
4. Slide out the battery compartment.
5. Remove the Mercedes-Benz key fob batteries.
6. Replace the old batteries with new batteries.
7. Slide the battery compartment back into the fob.
8. Return the metal key to its original slot.

• Battery type – CR2025 (1)

1. Release the metal key by sliding the black tab to the right.
2. Take the metal key out of the fob.
3. Insert the metal key into narrow end of the slot on the fob.
4. Pry off the back cover with the metal key.
5. Pry out the battery with a flat head screwdriver.
6. Install the new Mercedes key fob battery.
7. Return the back cover and metal key to their places in the fob.

1. Pull down the black latch at the bottom of the fob.
2. Take the metal key out of the fob.
3. Slide the metal key sideways into the fob until it triggers the latch.

6. Replace the old batteries with new batteries.
7. Place the battery compartment and metal key back into the fob.
